Precautions to Take With Fluorescent Desk Lamps
While fluorescent desk lamps are some of the best, there are definitely some precautions that you should take before diving right in and buying one. I love my fluorescent lamp but it still has some flaws to it.
First, fluorescent desk lamps are very delicate. If you're not careful, it isn't hard to break one of the bulbs, which can be dangerous as the bulbs do contain some amount of mercury.
Also, because of the presence of mercury, the bulbs need to be disposed of properly. They can't simply be thrown away as the mercury in fluorescent desk lamps would pollute the ground. As such, always make sure to recycle your fluorescent bulbs.
Lastly, with all products of a higher quality like fluorescent desk lamps, they can be a little more costly, so be prepared to spend a little more money for the lamp.
Overall, these are a few flaws in fluorescent desk lamps that are worth taking into consideration, but they really shouldn't faze you as the lamps are still great.
